Saint George's poem

My Saint George’s poem

Another year all the teachers and students from the school Sant Miquel dels Sants is going to celebrate Saint George’s day.
Like every year students write their own stories or poems for different subjects and then the jury decides which texts are the best. Those winner’s texts are published in a school’s book.
Personally for English subject I’ve decided to write a poem and that’s the result. I hope that you’ll enjoy it.

Love the life and live with love

Step by step, sluggish footsteps,
overcoming all the hurdles
to achieve someone far-off.

Everyone is in his own world,
but at the same time
we are sharing this odd place.

Helplessness, shame and weakness.
All these feelings
always remaining in my pocket.

I can not take it anymore.
I must throw away all my sorrows
and turn the music out loud.

Unexpectedly you come into sight,
you come closer to me
and shortly after love arises.

My eyes have just seen a dream come true,
my ears have just heard the tenderness of your words
and my lips have just melt with yours.

I’m speechless to describe how a simple moment
is able to change someone’s life.
Will it be forever?

Finally I hope that everybody has had a Merry Christmas and I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

First post

First of all, I’ll make a brief introduction about myself and about this blog as well.
My name is Bruna and I’m studying 1st of Batxillerat in Sant Miquel dels Sants, and I have just created this blog. Here I’ll publish some of my English work that I’ll do all through this course. I’ll begin with a summary of my summer.

SUMMER 2011

Unfortunately, today has been the last day of the summer because the autumn has already arrived, but it has been a great summer for me.
Picture of me with Vernon (my english father),
her daughter Savannah and Anastasia, a russian girl
.
From 3rd to 23rd of July I was in London in an English family’s house. I was really lucky because the family was so kind with me and it seemed that I had known them for ages!
I went there to improve my English level, but I also learnt many other things about their live and their traditions.
Every morning the family took me to St Dunstans College the school where I had lessons from 9 to 1 o’ clock.  After having lunch, I caught the train with all the groups and we went to visit a different part of the city each day.

At 7 o’clock, we came back to school and some  days we had some activities there. The other days, the family was waiting for us and we had a family evening.
I had a really good time there and I met people from all over the world! I’ll love to repeat this fantastic experience next summer because it was amazing!
